Color
The color of a diamond is a measure of how white it is. Diamonds in the 'normal' colorless to light yellow range are graded on a graduating scale of D-Z.

  • D, E, F: (Colorless) These diamonds are in the colorless range and typically can only be separated by experienced diamond graders.
  • G, H, I, J: (Near Colorless) These diamonds appear white when viewed face-up. Most people will not see color in these diamonds until they are compared to whiter diamonds, side by side.
  • K, L (Faint Yellow) These diamonds appear slightly yellow when viewed face-up and are easily separated from whiter diamonds.
  • M through Z: (Very Light Yellow) Diamonds M color and higher appear noticeably yellow or brown and are easily separated from other diamonds.
