Carat Weight
Diamonds are weighed in carats (ct) which were derived from the weight of a carob seed (200 milligrams.) The weights are expressed in numbers rounded to one hundredth of a carat. There are 100 'points' in a carat, so a '75 point diamond' weighs .75ct and is commonly considered 'three quarters of a carat.'
